Karl Bailey

Karl was born on the Army base in Frankfurt, Germany.  Growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland he began his musical career banging drumsticks (wooden ones, not poultry) on the floor to The Beatles.

In his first bands as a kid he was the drummer and the lead singer.  Wanting to move down front he switched to keyboards.  After high school Karl moved to Southern California and added guitar and saxophone to his list of instruments.   He then opened his own Entertainment Company and spent the next 10 years playing Weddings, Banquets, and Corporate Parties.

One night Karl stumbled into (and out of) the Sing Sing in Irvine, CA. and he knew instantly that he’d found his new niche.  After playing in California for 3 years Karl moved, in 2002, to open the Pittsburgh store and that’s been his home ever since. When not playing at Sing Sing you can occasionally find Karl across the street performing standup comedy at the Improv.

Karl feels as though he grew up in the most exciting time period for music, the 60’s and 70’s. “On any given day I would listen to Jimi Hendrix, Kansas, James Taylor, and Earth, Wind, and Fire back to back.” He has also never given up on his love for writing and recording his own original music.  In fact, you can find his music on iTunes or you can just hand him $10 and he’ll get you a CD from the break room.

Drew Tepe

A long time ago, in a town far, far away (actually, not that far… Smithton, PA), a young, gifted musician emerged, and through his craft, promised to bring joy and harmony to thousands of people throughout the Pittsburgh area. After that guy died in a tragic gardening accident, Andrew Tepe came on the scene.

Drew ("Drewber", "Drewbs", "Drewbee", "Drewster", "Drewcifer") started playing the piano at the age of three, and he never stopped (even when his older siblings threatened him!) Drew cut his performing teeth playing piano at dive bars, pool halls, and young women's dorm rooms while attending the University of Pittsburgh, and later earned his beer money by playing in various rock bands as he pursued his music degree from Edinboro University (it sounds like it's in Scotland, but it isn't). Since graduating, Drew has been a featured performer at piano bars at Disney World, Myrtle Beach, Washington DC, and right here in Pittsburgh. In addition to his work at piano bars, Drew has also performed hundreds of private shows all across the country. (Some of these shows involved singing and playing the piano.)

When he isn't playing piano, you can often find Drew and three other guys (any three guys) singing a capella harmony. Competitively, his barbershop quartets have one district championships and qualified for international competitions! Weird, huh?

In addition to performing, Drew arranges music, gives private piano lessons, and works as a studio musician.

Outside of the music realm, Drew enjoys playing ice hockey, bass fishing, and traveling with his family.

Drew's ability to play thousands of songs off the top of his head may astound you, but all of that music in his brain doesn't leave much room for him to remember anything else, so he may need your help finding his car keys after the show!

Danny McElroy

Danny grew up…well basically all over Western P.A. His family liked to move around (call it early training for “life as a musician on the road”). He started classical piano at the age of 5. Soon after that, he started playing by ear, when he discovered his father’s vast album collection of rock, blues, and jazz. Thus musically…he’s been corrupted ever since. Periodically skipping algebra, biology, and other mind numbing subjects, he’d find musical solace in the band and choral rooms, of his high school learning, and jamming out to whatever new CD, or classic gem he could get his hands on. He was building up his dueling piano library…and he didn’t even know it. After high school, he was off for a…brief stay…at Berklee College of Music. Where as a musician, you go to get…humbled. Then West Virginia University studying Jazz. And a “Third times the charm”…(you would think?!) learning sound and video production and engineering at the Audio Institute of Ohio. So obviously all this training and courses and well spent $$$!! lead him to…dueling pianos??!! Starting in 1999, at Station Square Pittsburgh, P.A., then playing in Savannah G.A., back to the Burgh, Key West Florida, Fort Worth/Dallas, T.X.,  and back to…DA Burgh. Music being his first love, film would definitely be his second, and sports would be a very close third. As far as musical influences go…well, there’s just too many to list here, and always adding more, cause with this gig you can never learn enough tunes! Danny is thrilled to be back in his hometown, playing at Sing Sing. Feel free to say hi anytime, maybe you have a new song, he’d love to learn for you!
